Production Photos from Henry IV, Part 1!!

Many many thanks to the Theatre Royal Bath for letting us post the gorgeous production photos taken by Nobby Clark.  Please click over to the galleries for even more from part 1 of the play!

Also, a review from This is Bristol:

"Under Peter Hall's direction this is a play worthy of its title. Too often Henry IV is reduced to a bit part player with the spotlight falling on his son Prince Hal and his reprobate friend Sir John Falstaff. Comedy is too often allowed to blank out drama.

Not so here in a production which is historical rather than hysterical. David Yelland's king is deep-throated and stern belying his waning confidence, knowing greatness is behind him and distraught his Prince of Wales prefers ale to arms.

Desmond Barrit as the lardy, lying Falstaff and Tom Mison as the prince still have their amusing moments, and play them fully.

In a cast strong in number, high in quality and commendable for clear speaking, there are some standout supporting performances. Ben Mansfield, Beckham-esque in looks, is a vigorous, dashing Hotspur, Philip Voss a scheming Worcester, Robert East a Welsher than Welsh Glendower and Lizzy McInnerny a colourful Mistress Quickly.

Simon Higlett's imposing, stony set, the fights, crisply choreographed by Kate Waters and the time-warped military uniforms designed by Christopher Woods all add to the ambience."

Tom Mison as Prince Hal

Met up with Tom again last ight for the second part of Henry 1V. Splendid actor and charming with it, too, as is Ben Mansfield in same production but playing different roles.

Told Tom I had rec'd an twitter from Darcylicious - he seemed quite taken aback and didn't appear to know about this. He does now. Chatted to him about his forthcoming projects too. All good wishes to Tom (and Ben) Pat Giles

So glad you got a chance to
